GaLaBau 2014 | Landscape and Play Show

All the signs show green again in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 17–20 September 2014, when GaLaBau together with its two exhibition daughters, the PLAYGROUND and Deutsche Golfplatztage segments, opens its doors for the 21st time. More than 1,150 exhibitors and around 62,000 trade visitors are expected at the exhibition trio in 2014. International exhibitors again show the complete spectrum of products for the design, construction and maintenance of gardens, parks and green facilities in twelve exhibition halls. The honorary sponsor and founding father of GaLaBau is the Bundesverband für Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau (BGL – Federal Landscape Contractors Association). August Forster, BGL President, is already looking forward to GaLaBau 2014: “Green is a real success factor! GaLaBau has impressively confirmed the international trend exhibition’s top position as a lively marketplace for our sector. Nürnberg is the only exhibition where landscape contractors receive such varied, concentrated and valuable inspiration for the successful development of their market activities.”

Some 50 per cent of the exhibitors at GaLaBau present construction and maintenance machinery. About 30 per cent offer building materials and 20 per cent cover special products like playground equipment, urban furnishings and the golf course construction and maintenance segment. The visitors are mainly landscape gardeners (approx. 50 per cent), clients from city and local authorities (approx. 20 per cent), landscape architects (approx. 10 per cent) and representatives from the housing sector, schools, greenkeepers, managers and operators of golf courses, operators of camping sites and other building contractors.

Review of GaLaBau 2012: high-quality professional audience

The 1,150 exhibitors at the event in 2012 not only praised the number of visitors, but also the quality of the professional audience. The results of the visitor survey conducted by an independent market and opinion research institute during the exhibition confirm this impression. 54 per cent of the 61,860 visitors hold management posts in their company, which meant the share of management staff rose by 13 per cent compared with GaLaBau 2010. And the group of decision-makers is larger still. 79 per cent of the visitors are involved in procurement decisions in their companies. The visitors – 11 per cent of them international – came mainly from contractors for green and open spaces and other building contractors. The exhibition was also visited by representatives from specialist authorities and public institutions, employees from consultant architects and planners, machinery dealers, private industry clients, golf course managers and operators of leisure parks.
