Parks win their stripes in Compass prize draw
Four holiday parks should find themselves a cut above the rest next year – for each can now boast a brand new ride-on lawnmower, courtesy of Compass Insurance.
Their state-of-the-art Kubota mowers came after the parks’ names came first out of the hat in a prize draw organised by Compass in autumn.
Hundreds of park owners and operators entered the competition when they visited the Compass stand at two major caravan shows in the north and south of England last September.
The Lawns in East Yorkshire and Beaulieu in Hampshire’s New Forest are the annual venues for showcasing the latest models from UK caravan and holiday home manufacturers.
As ever, Compass representatives were on hand at the shows to provide advice and information about park and holiday home insurance on both the public and trade days.
Shortly after the events, the draw winners were announced as…
* Julian Hiles from Friary Farm Caravan Park in Blakeney, Norfolk
* Elspeth Sutton of Sandgreen Caravan Park in Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway
* Nicky Colls of Brean Down Caravan Park in Brean, Somerset
* Clive Wilson of Swallow Point Holiday Park in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset

Winner Clive Wilson was among those taking delivery in October of his new mower, and said that news of his success came as a fantastic surprise:
“We take great pride in providing an immaculate and well cared-for environment for our caravan holiday home owners, and this will help us maintain the high standards they expect.
“We’re very grateful to Compass, and our new Kubota mower will prove a wonderful asset,” said Clive whose park has direct access over sand dunes to the area’s popular Sandy Bay beach.
