SPATEX awards a Best Supporting Oscar!

Spatex 2015 Pool and Spa Show

With an Industry-wide acclaimed Show behind us and Oscar season upon us, we’d like to roll out the red carpet and ask our Exhibitors, Visitors, and all the associations who supported and endorsed us, to take a bow. You have done us proud in helping us retain and strengthen our title of the UK’s Number One wet leisure Exhibition. Thank you one and ALL!

At SPATEX 2015 we were ALL winners!

Speeches mean more when they are in the first person so aside from giving you the facts, we’ll let the spotlight fall on you.

  • The Year of the Commercial Visitor

We all know that an exhibition is only as good as the quality AND quantity of its visitors. Coventry’s Ricoh Arena more than proved itself as the perfect venue as visitors from all over the UK arrived throughout the three days in their droves, rewarding us with the busiest last day in the Show’s history.

FACT – commercial visitors more than doubled from last year and are now approaching a quarter of our visitors, many of these had hitherto not been seen at SPATEX. These included wet leisure operators from the likes of hotels, educational establishments, holiday complexes, health clubs and leisure centres. And they were of a high calibre with over 59 per cent of all visitors at senior level and 76 per cent with purchasing authority.

Tom Devin of Devin Consulting “The biggest and best SPATEX I have ever been to and certainly worth coming down from Newcastle upon Tyne for.”

Dick Goodall of Aquamat: “I was impressed that this year’s Show targeted a wider audience and this paid off with a greater number of commercial visitors.”

Richard Carrington of Calorex: “SPATEX 2015 had a different feel about it this year and it was really, really good! Quality visitors, new faces and in particular some excellent new commercial leads.”

Tony Fisher of Waterco: “What an excellent Show! We received a variety of leads from outside of the pool industry – a sports injury rehabilitation centre and equine hydrotherapy centre to name but two so yes, we are very happy indeed. We’ve never had these types of leads before so we are delighted. We are definitely rebooking for next year!”

  • The Year when training and education got double billing

FACT – We could not have hosted a double seminar programme on all three days of the Show without the fantastic support of some of the Industry’s most esteemed associations, such as ISPE (Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers), STA (Swimming Teachers’ Association) and PWTAG (Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group).

Theo Millward of STA: “Such was the success of the Show, I can confirm that SPATEX is the ONLY dedicated wet leisure Exhibition that STA will be working with next year. We were impressed with the size of the stands and felt this year’s Show was much more representative of the wet leisure Industry as a whole than it has ever been in the past.”

Visitor, Keith Moody of La Paloma Contracts, Spain:“Each year I attend SPATEX, not just for the exhibition but also for the seminars and workshops. Living and working as I do in Spain, it is important to keep up to date with all the Industry training, education and Standards and SPATEX is an unparalleled free source!”

  • The Year when Spas were the Star!

Scoring a UK first, SPATEX hosted a dedicated Spa seminar day on the Tuesday of the Show, which drew a large degree of interest from both the domestic and commercial sectors. The Exhibition’s campaign, “Putting the Spa back into SPATEX” appears to have captured the attention, not only of visitors, but exhibiting spa companies, many of which booked 2015 stand space and have pledged to return next year. SPATEX can with justification claim to represent the WHOLE Industry and not just one sector.

Isobel Rickards Sanger of Elite Spas: “We have had an awesome Show! It’s been so good that we’ve decided to go for an even bigger stand next year. It has exceeded all our expectations and we have beaten our best ever Exhibition sales figure by 65 per cent. We believe that SPATEX has been the best out of the two shows and that is the one we want to be exhibiting at in the future.”

  • The Year that the Industry pulled together

Jamie Adams of Golden Coast: “SPATEX 2015 has been a really good show for Golden Coast and once again exhibitors raised their game in keeping with the venue to produce an excellent and very professional looking exhibition to a point that we’re beginning to look a lot more like the show in Lyon… it is testimony to the work SPATEX are putting in to make this ‘the’ industry show that everyone has been asking for.

Jo Catterall of Certikin H&V: “Tuesday, being the last day of the Show is traditionally quiet but not this year! It was probably our busiest day! There was a steady stream of customers throughout the day, right up until the Show closed at 4pm. What more can you ask!

Edward Campbell Salmon of Plastica: “SPATEX has proven to be THE most productive show we have attended this year.”

Dave Foster Design Works Tiles: “The second day was fantastic and probably the best day we’ve had at SPATEX in the last five years. The footfall was incessant.”

Mark Deller of SCP UK: “SPATEX 2015 appears to have attracted a broader range of customers than in previous years and we’ve seen a fair number of new visitors as well as existing.

Patrick Thorpe of Astral: “We’ve had a phenomenal level of interest…Superb Show all round!”

Steve Mallory of Atmospheric Zone Ltd: We made some great new contacts and we were very impressed with their diversity, we seemed to have more designer / project enquiries than previous years which is exactly our target client. We will certainly be rebooking for next year!”

Peter Evans of Pollet: “The quality of visitors has been excellent. We love the venue and are delighted with our stand – SPATEX projects a very professional image of the Industry.”

Mark Adams of Tornado Systems Ltd: “This is the first time we exhibited this year but have visited several times and such was the stand’s success we have already re-booked for 2016.”
